The Sue Line Crew celebrated my 69th birthday with a special double session. The regular session was Thursday April 28th and the bonus session was Friday April 29th. APRIL 28TH SESSION  My daughter Kathryn and my wife Sue supplied the birthday cake (above).  And I (above) was one happy camper to have this much fun with some many members of the Sue Line crew.  Joining in the fun were David Durham (above) as the Maryville Operator (MOP).  Jim Willis (above) as a mainline engineer.  Rob Robbins (above) was also a mainline engineer.  Danny Garland (above) was the Shreveport Yard Master.  Charlie DeVillbiss (above) was the Sue City Operator (SCO).  Marvin Bennett, Jr. (above) was the Ginnings Yard Master.  Mose Crews (above) was the River Front Yard Master.  Ken Ellison (above) was another mainline engineer.  as was Dillon Stokes (above).  Overseeing the action was dispatcher David Colvin (above). APRIL 29TH SESSION  In a rare site, Mose Crews (above) was on the mainline as an engineer for this session. Dillon Stokes (above) also was a mainline engineer.  Charlie DeVillbiss (above) was once again the Sue City Operator (SCO) and served as a mainline engineer.  For this session, Danny Garland (above) move to the River Front Yard Master position.  Ken Ellison (above) remained on the mainline as an engineer.  and Marvin Bennett, Jr. (above) remained the Ginnings Yard Master.  Once again the dispatcher was David Colvin (above). As for me, I remained a mainline engineer, but I was having so much fun I forgot to have someone take my picture!  All in all it was a GREAT two days, nut near the end it seems this dispatcher was ready for it to end. As we sat around having birthday cookie, ice cream, M&M's, cashews and soft drinks, suddenly alomsy every cell phone went off with a warning from the National Weather Service that there was a tornado in East Texas and it was approaching the Blanchard, Louisiana area. Then and only then did the party break up. |
