August 15th- Marvin Bennett, Jr. and Train 814

Post date: Aug 22, 2013 2:31:51 AM

A large group had gathered to operate the Sue Line and they were ready to roll. Let's join Marvin Bennett Jr. as he takes Train 814 from Elliott on the e-Branch towards NoLaCRA Yard just north of Alexandria.

Out of the quiet of the night a pair of Central Western locomotive with Train 814 in tow arrive from Elliott into Eastman.

Train 814 continue non-stop down the E-Branch.

Train 814 heads towards Eagleton on the E-Branch.

Train 814 passes the depot in Eagleton

and heads on towards Maryville.

Train 814 is coming through Maryville while

a southbound freight awaits on the mainline.

Leaving Maryville, Train 814 approaches Ft. Barrow.

At Ft. Barrow, Train 814 meets a northbound local.

Just before entering Great Bridge,

Train 814 meets another northbound local.

The release of chemicals into the river from

the paper plant at Lake Hamilton coupled

with a dry summer appears to have

dried up the river.

The power plant in Lake Hamilton appears to

be adding to the problem.

Many things appear to be happening....

The road north of Pinecrest,

the road between Pinecrest and North Park,

and the road in Sue City all appear to be very busy.

There is a little activity on the roof in south Sue City,

as well as a lot of activity in north Sue City.

Jim Findley is flying his model airplane

near the grain elevator in Sue City.

The crew of the Sue Line Maintenance-of-way

helicopter appear ready to take off.

And the Sue City baseball team appears to be

practicing for their upcoming baseball game.

Join us next week to see what else is happening on the Sue Line.

Special thanks go out to Marvin Bennett, Jr.

for these photos and the photos from last week.
