Sept 30th- Pairs night

Post date: Oct 03, 2010 8:37:24 PM

The was one of those milepost we had been working for. It has been 90 days since the conversion. We had been using single units on all trains, but tonight that, at last changed.

After the locomotives were consisted using the command center from CVP Products, Jason Busy (above, center) with Ken Ellison (above, left) and Danny Garland (above, right) began to process of matching the locomotives. Spouting terms like CV2, CV3, CV4 and CV5. Jason went to work getting to locomotive to run together despite different DCC decoders.

Before the session began, Rob Robins took on the job of changing the battery in one of our computers. You would think they would last more than a mere ten years!

Jim Willis arrived with the new unit for holding the T9000E wireless throttles and the Radio Headsets. Jim had constructed and painted it in Deadwood, Texas and tonight it was assembled and placed into use. Now we jusy have to fingure out our wiring for the unit.

Jim is a man of many talents. Aove we see him helping Rob Robins with the computer battery change.

Charles Kneipp continued his work frinding "dead spots" and "mini- shorts", or was that "many shorts"?

When it was time to run, Mose Crews (above) took over the duties of the SCO (Sue City Operator).

After moving some of the paired locomotive to Alexandra, Danny Garland (above) took up his usual job as the Shreveport Yard Operator.

Charlie DeVillbiss (above) got things moving on the Shreveport Public Belt section of the railroad in Keithville.

Rodney Dixon (avove) immediately went to the extra board and kept trains rolling all night.

Also on the Extra Board was Ken Ellison (above) who ran train after train after train during the session.

Paul Harwell (above) again took on the job of running the Maryville Operator (MOP) from Elliott on the E-branch to Lake Hamilton and the Paper Mill.

The mainline trains were moved by Rob Robins (above, left) seen with Charlie DeVillbiss (above, right).

And yes, Jason Busy (above) did get a change to operate. Moving trains on the mainline.  Here we see Jason with a pair of his locomotives which he brought with him for the evening.

Here we see a pair of units from Danny Garland (above).

Here we see a pair of the Sue Line units in which decoder were placed by David Colvin.

Here we see the triple NoLaCRA units which had decoders installed by David Colvin and a pair of units from Paul Harwell.

And all these units had decoders installed by David Colvin.

After the operating session, we see Danny Garland (above, far left, white cap), Jim Willis (above, left, blue shirt), Ken Ellison (above, left, blue cap) along with Charlie DeVillbiss (above, right, black cap) and Rob Robins (above, far right) as they discuss next weeks plans with...
