May 24th- Big Crowd Equals Big Fun....

Post date: May 26, 2012 2:13:34 AM

This Thursday was one of the biggest crowds for a session in quite a while. My youngest son and soon to be first time father, Joseph was back in town.

How else could the son of a self-proclaimed "railroad nut" arrive, but via the Amtrak Eagle (above) coming from St.Louis, Mo. to Marshall, Texas.

#1-  Joseph (above) took to the mainline like a fish to water and the water would be full tonight as there were a record eight mainline trains running all night. Here we see Joseph Kamm (above) checking his train in the I-49 Yard before heading out on the mainline. Joseph Kamm also was the "Keeper of the Ring" for this session.

#2-  David Colvin (above) is seen near Leming with his south bound local (Train 112).

#3-  Rodney Dixon (above) is seen checking his paper work

while switching a train in Jeauxville.

#4-  Here we see Lionel Brangham (above) with his north bound train at Richardson.

Could it be that Lionel is so happy that his is running steam or

that he is just having a good time?

#5-  Matt Tessier (above) was again with us as school is out. Matt Tessier

is making up a local turn in South Alex Yard before heading back to Maryville.

#6-  Charles Kneipp (above) is doing some locomotive maintenance in Union Street Yard

before heading out on the mainline.

#7-  Rob Robbins (above) is busily at work getting his train from Maryville.

#8-  Marvin Bennett, Jr. appears to checking out the competition-

trucks on the highway- while awaiting his train at Alexandria Yard.

And what kept all these mainline trains running all evening?

Jim Willis (above) was the ever resourceful Alexandria Yard Master.

Charlie DeVillbiss (above) was the North Park Operator.

Paul Harwell (above) was the Maryville Operator (MOp).

Mose Crews (above) was the Sue City Operator.

Ken Ellison (above) was the Shreveport Public Belt Operator.

Ken Ellison is shown here in a self-portrait

as he also provided the photos from this session.

Danny Garland (above)  was, once again, the Shreveport Yard Master.

The Dispatcher for this session was Richard Kamm (above).

TRAINS ALONG THE WAY.......

Amtrak Number 21- The Texas Eagle.

Southern Central units head up this south bound local.

A town full of trains- Maryville with

a south bound local on the back track,

a north bound local on the middle track and

Caruth and Central units waiting for a local to be made up.

A north bound local in Maryville.

A North bound Southern Pacific local waits on the mainline in Leming.

A LITTLE TIME IN KEITHVILLE.

The tracks are full at JRK Grain.

The tracks are full at Keith's Crap.

The station is quiet in Keithville.

The industries in Keithville appear busy.

All is quiet here in Keithville and

soon the Eagle will be in Marshall, Texas to take my son home to his family and

all will be quiet except for the sound of a tiny voice saying "choo-choo Daddy, choo-choo".

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
