June 2nd- More Work Ahead

Post date: Jun 05, 2011 2:30:56 PM

We are about a month shy of the one year anniversary of the upgrade, but it appears we have more work ahead.

Thanks to the continued efforts of group member such as Mose Crews (above) show her at Ashby Jct. There were still some parts of the Sue Line not running as well as they should.

After much work by members of the Sue Line crew as well as guidance, understanding and patients by Keith Gutierrez and the CVP team, we have found that we have exceeded the basic capacities of the EasyDcc system. Years ago Keith Gutierrez and I used to say "Keith builds them and Richard breaks them". This appears once again to be true. We have 19 Zone Masters and about 350- 400 ft of data cable. The EasyDcc basic command station just did not have enough power for this much equipment. It took Keith Gutierrez less than 5 minutes to come up with the solution.

With that problem on hold, on to running trains.

Danny Garland (above) using his iTouch as his WiThrottle, continued to keep trains rolling on the E-Branch, Maryville and Lake Hamilton.

Mose Crews (above) showing in I-49 West yard in Blanchard, ran not only Blanchard and Shreveport, but also took care of Alexandria Yard.

Rob Robins (above) running a tank train in Robinson, left the Shreveport Public Belt Line for the mainline.

Paul Harwell shown running a local in Jeauxville (above left) and in North Park (above, right) , also was on the mainline.

Matt Tessier (above) was also on the mainline. Here Matt is switching in Maryville.

Joining his brother Matt on the mainline was Todd Tessier working a train in Leming (above, left) and in Brandon (above, right).

Lionel Brangham (above) switching his train in Sue City completed the mainline crews.

Jim Willis (above) was the assistant dispatcher for the evening.

The dispatcher for the evening was once again Richard Kamm.

Due to personal reasons Ken Ellison (above) arrived too late to operate but did provide the photos of this evenings session. Again many thanks Ken.
