Post date: Oct 03, 2014 5:10:50 PM

It was a stormy night- Tornado Warnings and Severe Storm Warnings Covered the TV Screens, but the Sue Line Crew was in action.

Tonight let's follow Marvin Bennett, Jr. (below- in Shreveport) as he takes the Sue City to Shreveport and back turn (Trains 167 and 166).

We see Train 167 the northbound leg of the turn, about to leave Sue City with a Baltimore and Ohio (B&O) engine in the lead. Can you guess who got a new locomotive this week?

Train 167 the northbound leg of the turn, is passing between

Sue City and Robinson. A truck load of automobile parts is

seen waiting at the grade crossing. The parts are headed for

Stokes Auto Parts.

Train 167 the northbound leg of the turn, is seen

waiting for a signal at the north end of Robinson.

Train 167 the northbound leg of the turn, is seen entering Brandon.

Here the train will have some switching to do.

In Brandon, the locomotive from Train 167 the northbound leg of the turn,

has moved to the siding (above, left) to move two cars

(the boxcar and the covered hopper) (above center)

to spot a car (SOO LINE Boxcar) from the train (above, right).

The box car is added to the string (above, left) and then spotted (above right)

while the rest of Train 167 the northbound leg of the turn,is sitting on the mainline.

The locomotive rejoins the train and Train 167

the northbound leg of the turn,

is ready to continue on to Shreveport.

Train 167 the northbound leg of the turn, is seen at the

grade crossing between Brandon and South Morgan.

After arriving at Shreveport, Marvin Bennett, Jr. leaves

Train 167 the northbound leg of the turn,in the BUSY Yard and

climbs aboard Train 166 the southbound leg of the turn.

Train 166 the southbound leg of the turn, arrives at South Morgan.

Shortly after Train 166 the southbound leg of the turn,

arrives at South Morgan, a northbound freight arrives

behind leased power from the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Train 166 the southbound leg of the turn,  is seen near the north end of Brandon.

Upon arriving in Brandon, the locomotive from

Train 166 the southbound leg of the turn,

cuts loose to do some switching.

The locomotive moves to the east spur (above, left)

and two cars are moved out (above, center).

The covered hopper is added to the train (above, right).

Train 166 the southbound leg of the turn,

is back together and ready to go, but

first a northbound freight arrives (above, left)

and passes Train 166 the southbound leg of the turn (above, right).

Train 166 the southbound leg of the turn,is next seen in Robinson.

Yes, the Alturus and Lone Pine (grey gondola) is the real

"coupler protector car"  from John Allen's railroad.

When cars are coupled together too violently,

an alarm goes off in the car.

As Train 166 the southbound leg of the turn, nears Sue City,

we catch one last look as it passes through the trees and

Jim Findley is seen flying his model airplane in the background.
