April 23rd- A Visitor and a New Direction

It was FUN as usual for the Sue Line Crew along with a visitor from Alabama- Richard Katz (below).

Tonight we will begin a new direction in covering the sessions- A review of the town along the Sue Line. We will begin with the town named for my Mother- Mary Louise Taylor Kamm- Maryville.

Notice that the track plan is fairly simple, but the FUN level is high.

A view to the North, remember that the South is always right and the North is what is left, shows a over view of Maryville.

Here we see a train coming down from the E-Branch (Eagleton) and entering Maryville.

Here we see a train entering Maryville from the North on the mainline.

headed North bound.

Here we see the same area looking from Maryville

up the E-Branch line towards Eagleton.

Like Shreveport and Bossier City in real life,

Maryville and Eagleton sit on opposites of a river.

Here we see the old Missouri Southern depot

with the Missouri Southern mainline on the front

and the E-branch line on the rear.

The old depot has been sold and now appears to have a different function.

Looking to the South from Maryville we see a train switching the south end of town.

Later in the day, we see another train

switching the South end of Maryville.

A North bound train has arrived in down town Maryville.

Each of the buildings painted on the backdrop in Maryville

were done by Daggi Wallace, the former wife of 

my dear friend Scott Wallace of the Dallas, Texas, area.

Each building was photographed and measured.

The buildings were then tracked out using a scale rule and painted.

Many of the buildings are now gone, but their memory remains.

More about the past next week, but now to the newest addition in the Maryville area.

Just across the river from Maryville in Eagleton is Bob's Produce and Farmers Market, which is named for my brother Robert (Bob) Thomas Kamm. On the roof we have recently added a new sign which is controlled my a micro-controller (Arduino) which drives the display on the sign.

Throughout the session, the sign displays the names

of various members of the Sue Line Crew.
