It started as a small problem. The I-49 East yard would not response to local control. Probably a loose connection in the wiring or a bad rotary switch. No a big deal, until......
I-49 Yard (above) first 5 tracks are I-49 West, next 5 tracks are I-49 East Yard.
To make an extremely looong story short, after 2 1/2 hours of changing devices, checking wire connections,etc. We still did not have the problem solved. We then decided to put everything back the way it was when we started. After did that, we I-49 East once again worked.What was wrong, we many never know, but we did loose an entire operating session.
Our guest for the evening was John Hodge (above).
He can to operate, but got to watch us work.
I hope was can do better for you next time John.
Charles Kneipp (above) appears to be hard at work
doing something in the I-49 East Yard.
I wonder what it is?
Oh, well- derailments happen to all of us!
Mose Crews (above) check over the cars in
the M&ET yard in Shreveport.
Jim Willis (above) downstairs are the session,
appears happy after the problem was solved.
Paul Harwell (above) also downstairs,
appears to be discussing something.
Danny Garland (above) also downstairs,
is taking all the discussion in.
Rob Robbins (above) also downstairs,
appears confused.
Ken Ellison (above) also downstairs, appears relaxed
after the problem fixed itself. Once again, Ken Ellison
did double duty as he also took the photos for this session.
Richard Kamm (above), also downstairs,
appears to be explaining something,
but he was the most relieved man in the room.
