June 24th Work and Operate

I grew up hearing over and over "First you work and then you play". This was how this Thursday went.

Led by Jim Willis (above), the work continued on the 3rd District. Mose Crews (below, left), Paul Harwell (below,center,black shirt), Rodney Dixon (below, center, gray shirt) and Danny Garland (below, left) placed the legs on the substructure for the third district downstairs.

Meanwhile upstairs, Rob Robbins (below, black shirt), John Arnold (below, blue and white shirt), Doran McQueary (far below, blue shirt), David Colvin (far below, red shirt), and Ken Ellison (below at bottom on knees) all continued work on small defects in the signal and control systems.

But once again, at about 8:00 pm the work stopped and the operations began.

Jim Willis (above left) became the Alex Yardmaster and Danny Garland (above left) became the Shreveport Yardmaster while Mose Crews (below) returned to the Maryville Operator.

Doran McQueary (below, left), Ken Ellison (below center), Rob Robins (below right), Paul Harwell (far below, left -shown with Danny Garland), and Rodney Dixon (far below, right) all took trains over the mainline as a concerned attempt was made to repopulate Underworld the hidden staging yard.
