August 18th- The Sky is Falling, The Sky is Falling

Much like the famous saying from Chicken Little, quite literally, the sky was falling on the Sue Line.  Recently we had had an air conditioning units replaced. During the installation, something went wrong. On Friday after last week's operation session, I went to the layout to get a battery for a drill. This is what I found when I got upstairs (below) ---

The sheet rock had gotten wet and collapsed along with the insulation 

leaving a gaping hole in the ceiling (below).

The insulation and sheet rock had fallen to the floor as well (below).

The damage extended over the center island from Sue City and in to Robinson (below).

This is just south of Robinson in the center island (below).

As in Sue City, the isle between Robinson and Brandon was full of debris from the fall (below).

ON WITH THE FUN----

After several hours of cleaning up and help from one of the Sue Line Crew members, the railroad was again ready to operate, so-

With David Colvin (above) as the dispatcher, 

the Sue Line Crew set about operation and FUN as usual.

Jim Willis (above) had the job of operating Sue City (aka Ground Zero) as the Sue City Operator (SCO).

Ken Ellison (above) took on the duties as the Maryville Operator (MOP).

Marvin Bennett, Jr. (above) as busy as the Ginnings Yard Master.

Charlie DeVillbiss (above) took over the duties as the Shreveport Yard Master.

Mose Crews (above) as on the spot as usual as the Riverfront Yard Master.

On the mainline, Danny Garland (above) is seen in Sue City.

David Durham (above) is another mainline engineer and 

is seen taking a train out of Union Street Yard in Shreveport.

Dillon Stokes (above) is seen working in North Park as another mainline engineer.

Rob Robins (above) is seen with a cal train  leaving Riverfront Yard.

The mainline engineers were rounded out by Richard Kamm (above) who is seen in Dutchman Falls.
