August 11th- small group but BIG FUN...

It was another night of 100+ degrees outside, summer family commitments and work. All of which kept the group small, but there was BIG FUN running trains.

With three engineers, the mainline was kept busy------

Rodney Dixon (above) was just leaving Alexandria yard.

Lionel Bringham (above) was busy in Dutchman Falls.

Doran McQueary (above left) along with his daughter Emily (above, right) were busy with a train in Maryville.

Mose Crews (above) kept the train rolling in Maryville as the MoP.

Charlie DeVillbiss (above) was the Sue City Operator.

Danny Garland (above) is in the Diesel Facility in Shreveport as the Shreveport Operator.

Jim Willis (above) kept busy as the Alexandria Yard operator. Jim also provided the photos from tonight's session.

The Dispatcher for the evening was Richard Kamm (above).

Scenery Elf Strikes...

During the past week, the scenery elf has been busy on the Sue Line.

The old Depot in Maryville (above, left) appears to have other uses now. I wonder what they could be? Perhaps the answer could be found at the Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Lab (above, right) which is across the street.

Looks like the Shreveport Public Belt (SPB) is very public.

NKP 765 on the last leg of its in-bound trip a few miles east of the Train Festival site on July 20th. Train Festival 2011 was held July 21-24 in Rock Island, IL and included a large display of steam and vintage diesel engines, excursions over freight-only former Rock Island lines, vendors tents, and other attractions.
