March 3rd- Jumbotron Screen from Dr. Geoff Bunza
Post date: Mar 07, 2016 12:33:9 AM
This week's item of interest is from the Master of Model Railroad Animation, Dr. Geoff Bunza from the west coast. I had followed and with the help of Dr. Geoff Bunza, I have built a HO scale TV set as in his Harry's TV article on YouTube and in Railroad Model Hobbyist. This will be shown later, but I was looking for something bigger. Dr. Geoff Bunza suggested- "If you do want to do full screen video that size or the size of an old drive in theater, look into Eclipse Replay 1.8" LCD 4GB USB 2.0 Keychain
http://www.ebay.com/itm/351641060844 ".
The unopened package is below-
I bought one for $ 8.95, and opened it (below).
After charging it with a USB connector, I started it and moved to the Photo Section (below)
With the eclipse connected to my desktop computer, I could read the memory like a jump drive.
I removed the photos and videos on the drive and placed several of my own photos
on the eclipse (above).
At the workbench, I used an X-acto saw to cut off the ring of the keychain (above).
Next, I masked off the screen (above).
And painted the edges black (above).
After checking that the eclipse still worked (above).
I have temporarily mounted it on a partially built concession stand at the ball park
behind Trinity Heights Grain in Sue City.
Plans are to finish the concession stand and add a score board.
Photos will follow when this project is completed.
MANY, MANY THANKS TO
Dr. GEOFF BUNZA
for his help and encouragement.
