December 31st- The Sue Line Crew- Part 5

Once again there was no operating session. It was felt best to leave this highways tonight to the amateur drinkers and therefore was elected to stay home. However let's take a look at two more members of the Sue Line Crew.

ROB ROBINS

Rob Robins has a day job, teaching high school physics

Rob Robins has taught for 30 years and he reports that “it's still fun”.

Before teaching, Rob Robins was an exploration geologist in Oklahoma City. 

Rob Robins and his wife, Dana Robins,  have two children in the military- one is an United States Air Force A-10 pilot and the other is a United States Army Ranger.

Rob Robins and his wife, Dana Robins,  have  four grandchildren. 

Rob Robins has been operating on Sue Line for 22 years including being the third assistant dispatcher 

Rob Robins built with youngest son, owns and operates the HO scale Marshall & East Texas Railway (M&ET) monthly at his home in Marshall, Texas.

Rob Robins started model railroading with N-scale in 1973. 

 

KEN ELLISON

It was a dark and stormy night, but that’s another story…………………….

Ken Ellison was born on February 14, 1943 in Charleston West Virginia.

Ken Ellison grew up watching trains on the Chesapeake & Ohio (C & O).

Ken Ellison graduated from East Bank High School in 1962.

Ken Ellison served in the United States Air Force from 1962 until 1966, as a communications systems specialist and served one year in Southeast Asia from 1965 until 1966.

Ken Ellison worked as a teletype repair technician for Western Union Telegraph in West Virginia from 1967 until 1974.

Ken Ellison worked as an engineering Maintenance Manager for Boots/BASF Pharmaceutical Company from 1974 until 1999, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Ken Ellison currently is working a volunteer auxiliary deputy for the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office since 2011.

Ken Ellison has been a member of the Sue Line Crew for over 15 years.

Ken Ellison was an integral part of the upgrade of the Sue Line Railroad which began in 2010. Ken Ellison used his past experience to help with the electrical installation and cable preparations.

Ken Ellison reports “I enjoy the fellowship of the group and keeping my mind active by solving switching puzzles.”

Ken Ellison is currently building an N- scale layout based on the Chesaeake & Ohio (C & O) during the transition era.
