February 25th- Train Trip to St. Louis
Post date: Mar 06, 2016 4:46:55 PM
The Thursday session was excellent, but my eye was on Friday. Our adventure began at the Shreveport, Louisiana, Regional Airport where we parked out car and boarded a bus for Longview, Texas.
My wonderful wife (above, left) and I (above, right) were the only passengers on the bus (below).
The bus was actually the second bus, as the first bus developed a leak in the radiator hose and had to be replaced.
Arriving at Longview, Texas, Train 22, The Texas Eagle, was late. Here we see my wife (above, left) and out luggage (above, right) waiting for the train. The big blue suitcase and the red suitcase were my wife's. The small purple roller suitcase was mine. The other purple bag was full on Monjuni's sauce for my son, his wife and children.
After boarding the train, my wife (above, left) and I (above, right) had supper about 5 miles out of Longview, Texas, had a quiet supper while the Union Pacific Railroad fixed a broken rail.
Here is the good part of the trip---- Lillian Eve (above, left) and Joseph (above, right).
They just light us up when we are with them.
Sadly, all good things must come to an end.
After a GREAT week, we returned via Train 21 (above) to
Longview, Texas, and by bus back to Shreveport, Louisiana.
