August 4th- And the Heat Goes On.......

Post date: Aug 06, 2011 1:52:6 AM

Today was the 33rd day of temperatures above 100 degrees. The temperature on the way home said -115 degrees, but the Sue Line Crew would not be denied.

It seemed fitting that the newest industry on the railroad was I. C. Sparks.

In one of his last sessions before starting college, Matt Tessier (above, left) was on the mainline. Matt Tessier was switching his train in Brandon, while Paul Harwell (above, right) was also on the mainline, but at Leming.

Lionel Brangham (above) was also on the mainline with Train 7,

the Super Pigs, on the move through Robinson.

Todd Tessier (above) is now switching in Leming.

Rodney Dixon (above) is busy switching his train in Leming.

Rob Robbins (above) is working his train in North Park.

Charles Kneipp (above) completed the mainline engineers by running a train

into Ft. Barrow which is behind the Lake Hamilton Paper Company.

Charlie DeVilbiss (above), the Sue City Operator,  is watching The M&ET Turn

pull out of Shreveport and go behind Keithville on its way back to Sue City.

Charlie DeVilbiss is "old school" and still uses hand signals.

Mose Crews (above) was the Maryville Operator (MOP) and

is switching a cut of cars at the Lake Hamilton Paper Company.

Working the south end of the railroad was

Jim Willis (above) as the Alex Yard Operator

.

And working the north end was Danny Garland (above)

as the Shreveport Operator.

Ken Ellison (above) was the Assistant Dispatcher for the evening.

Ken Ellison also provided the photos of this session.

Chief Dispatcher for the evening was Richard Kamm (above).
